Admissions Document OCR
When an applicant uploads an identity document — a birth certificate, national ID, or passport-style photo — during the admissions pipeline, iSchool can extract structured fields (name, date of birth, document number) from it automatically and attach them to the document record as a suggestion.
This is identity-document data. Extraction is always a suggestion sitting alongside the uploaded image — document verification (pending / verified / rejected) stays exactly the same deliberate, manual staff action it always was. Nothing here auto-verifies a document.
Why it’s useful anyway
Even as a suggestion, it saves a staff member from retyping a name and date of birth off a photo by hand — they confirm or correct, rather than starting from a blank field.
Configuration
Uses the same vision provider as Scoresheet Scanning. If unconfigured, the admissions submission still succeeds — the document is stored and simply has no OCR suggestion attached, never a blocked submission.
