AI Assistant — “Ask iSchool AI”
A persistent assistant reachable from every page of the dashboard. Ask it questions in plain language about your school’s own data — “which students haven’t paid this term’s fees,” “how does attendance this month compare to last” — and it answers by querying your live records, not a static knowledge base.
What it can do
- Answer questions grounded in your school’s actual data.
- Draft routine communications (a reminder, an announcement) for staff to review and send.
- Reword or summarize text on request.
What it deliberately does not do
The assistant never silently computes a final grade, fee amount, promotion decision, or any other figure that matters, and it never sends a communication on its own. Drafting and suggesting, yes. Deciding and sending, no — a person always reviews first.
Provider
Powered by a configurable LLM provider — DeepSeek or GLM by default (cheap, fast, good enough for this kind of grounded Q&A), with Gemini, OpenAI and Anthropic also selectable. If no provider is configured, the assistant reports that plainly instead of guessing or fabricating an answer. See Getting Your API Keys.
