School finance

Invoices, fee categories, discounts, and payments against a student’s account. Supports both automated payment-gateway collection and manually recorded/offline payments reconciled by a bursar. Every payment carries a gateway reference, and gateway references are unique — a webhook retried by the payment provider never double-counts a payment.

A student’s invoice tracks payment state (unpaid, partially paid, paid, overpaid) and due state (current, due, overdue) independently, so reporting can distinguish “hasn’t paid enough yet” from “payment is now late.”

Payroll & HR

Staff records, salary structures, leave requests, and attendance — kept in the HR module, distinct from student attendance. Payroll runs reference the same staff records HR manages, so a salary change or leave approval is immediately reflected in the next run.

This is the school’s own in-app billing of its students and staff — separate from the platform-level billing Brainers Labs runs against the school itself. See Platform Admin for that.
